Use eWalk® to design powerful web-based, handheld applications

Walking around, observing and making mental notes is sound management practice. Turning those observations into data is a simple technique that can help your organization make decisions based on statistical evidence instead of conflicting memories.

eWalk® from Media-X Systems, is an easy to use data collection system to collect, analyze and store data.

You can collect data directly through web-based forms, or download a data collection template to your handheld (Palm, Pocket PC, Blackberry) to record observations using various input elements including pull-downs, checkboxes, numeric entry, text entry etc.

When you’re done, the results are uploaded to the web for printing and instant data analysis. You can attach custom forms or export the data in a standard format that can be used in Excel, FileMaker and many other programs.

eWalk includes a variety of built-in statistical reports, including cross tabulations, comparisons, etc. Each data element is presented numerically and visually. For greater control, Media-X can provide eWalk statistical reports customzied for your organization.

eWalk can also be used with eTeacher®, mVal®, and mx360™ to extend it further with student and teacher evaluation, on-line surveys and other data collection options.

Media-X mobile applications are known to be incompatible with the following handheld models: Palm Zire 21, Palm Treo 700w, Clie. PalmOS 3-5 is required on Palm handhelds. PocketPC 2005 and Windows Mobile 5 are required on Windows Mobile devices.


How to build a data collection and analysis system with eWalk.

  1. Create one or more templates in eWalk on the web, with the elements you want (you can use numbers, checklists, pulldowns, rubrics, date/time stamps, etc.) You can share your templates with others with one click.

  2. The eWalk templates are downloaded from the web to your handheld during your next HotSync- ready to use.

  3. Now use eWalk on your Palm to complete observations, surveys, walk-throughs, inspections, etc. Completed observations are automatically uploaded to the web.

  4. Uploaded observations can be printed, saved as PDFs and emailed.

  5. Analyze your data with various built-in reports, or export data in Excel format.
